Terms of Use

Last updated: September 19, 2026

These terms apply to your use of Shift Schedule Maker (the "site"). By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

What the site provides

The site offers free browser-based tools that generate shift schedule calendars from repeating patterns such as 2-2-3, 4-on-4-off, DuPont, 24/48 and similar rotations, plus downloadable templates and written guides. No account is required. The tools run in your browser and are provided at no cost. Features may change, be interrupted, or be removed as the project develops.

The output is a draft, not a staffing decision

The calendars, tables, and figures produced by the site are illustrative drafts based on the pattern and dates you enter. They do not assess how many qualified people a shift needs, patient acuity, skill mix, contractual terms, collective agreements, minimum rest periods, maximum working time, overtime entitlement, or public holiday rules. Weekly hour figures shown on pattern pages are cycle averages, not payroll calculations or individual workweek totals. Verify any schedule against your own operational requirements and approval process before publishing it to a team.

Not legal, employment, or financial advice

Nothing on this site is legal, employment, human resources, health and safety, medical, or financial advice. Working time rules, rest requirements, and overtime law differ by country, state, industry, and agreement, and they change over time. Whether a given rotation is lawful and appropriate for your workplace is determined by the rules that apply to you, not by this site. The pay calculator produces rough estimates for orientation only and must not be used as a payroll record. Consult a qualified professional for advice about your situation.

Local data and shared links

Schedules are processed in your browser and may be saved in local browser storage on your own device. Clearing site data can remove them. When you create a share link, the selected schedule parameters are encoded in the URL, so anyone who receives that URL may be able to read those parameters. Do not enter sensitive personal information or confidential employee details.

Downloads and exports

Templates and any CSV, PDF, or calendar exports are offered for convenience. Check downloaded files before distributing them, and keep your own backups. We are not responsible for errors caused by spreadsheet software, calendar applications, printer settings, or edits made after export.

Provided "as is"

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of inaccuracies, or that schedule output will suit any particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its output, including lost profits, staffing shortfalls, payroll errors, or business interruption. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the data you enter and for reviewing output before you rely on it. Confirm coverage, qualifications, minimum rest, overtime, and handovers with the people responsible for your workplace. Please do not use the site to break the law, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or to any related system, to disrupt its operation, or to scrape it at a volume that degrades service for others. Please do not enter sensitive personal information into the schedule fields; see the privacy policy for how data is handled.

Intellectual property

The site's name, design, written guides, and page content belong to their respective owners and are protected by copyright. You may use, print, adapt, and share the schedules and templates you generate for your own personal or internal business purposes, including commercial use inside your own organisation. You may not republish the site's written guides or page content as your own, or present the site as your product.

Third-party links and services

The site links to third-party pages and uses third-party services such as analytics and, where enabled, advertising. We do not control third-party content or practices and are not responsible for them. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to them.

Changes and availability

We may update these terms, change how the tools work, or stop offering part of the site at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Because schedules are stored in your own browser rather than on a server, keep your own exported copy of anything you need to retain.
