How the 4-on-4-off schedule works

The 4-on-4-off repeats every 8 days: four 12-hour shifts, then four full days off. Two day crews (offset by four days) hand the day shift back and forth, and two night crews do the same, so exactly one day crew and one night crew are on every single day. Because the block is short and even, the pattern is easy to memorise and gives a genuine four-day weekend every rotation.

Use the four-day break without losing weekday awareness

Put those dates on the calendar first and decide whether the base rotation can absorb them or needs separately approved cover.
